Visit Capt Spencer

Joe Crutcher

Joe Crutcher

Just now
...

I would like to let you know that a few of us Seawolves are going to see and reunite with Capt Spencer in Baton Rogue La on Thursday 12 April 18. The trip details were not finalized until very recently. I havent seen Capt Spencer since 1968 and we are looking forward to spending some of the day with him at his home. His Daughters have very graciously helped set this up and are making it possible for this reunion to happen at this time. I realize its short notice but if you would like to attend with us, his Family has put the welcome mat out for all. If you go , just Text Kathy ( his Daughter) at 770-377-5165 or just call her at the same number. That way Her and Angie ( another Daughter ) will know how many to plan for. I believe there will be 6 or 8 of us attending as of now. Capt Spencer lives in Geismar La. at 37030 Cobblestone Dr. Kathy tells me its about 30 to 45 minutes from New Orleans. If you call her she will have information on the details. Feel free to call me also at 858-524-9917. No matter who is able to attend I will ensure that he gets the very best of wishes from all of us Seawolves. I want him to know how much he means to us and I know this is going to be a remarkable get together .
If you are able to come , just let Kathy or me know and We will see you there. Until then, the Captain told me to let you guys know , he don't just like us , HE LOVES US and I will let him know my feelings when I give him a great big hug next Thursday !!
 Kathy - 770-377-5165 or Joe - 858-

Joe,
I just spoke with him by phone yesterday to let him know about LT Robert William Taylor (Plank Owner Flight Surgeon) passing away back in 2014, and he sounds great. Seawolf ADJAN Russell Robinson in Gonzales, LA has also been visiting him weekly.

we had a Louisiana Seawolf "mini reunion" at his house a couple of months ago - 6 or so of us. He is as sharp as a tack and lots of fun, as are his daughters.

I'd love to be there this time but will be on my 5th trip to China this year on Bell Helicopter business.

Please give him my regrets and regards,

thanks

Hi Dad,
So sorry that Jeff and I can't travel to see Cpt Spencer with you all. Not a doubt in my mind that it would be a very memorable and special trip.
As you know, we did have a chance to interview him a couple of years ago, which was a tremendous experience and a blessing. We spent the whole day just visiting, talking and spending time with him.
He is one of the most humble men we have met and is so proud of the Seawolves, not just in what you all accomplished, but as human beings. I would safely say that you ALL "hung the moon" to him!
None of are guaranteed tomorrow and I know that you have been wanting to see him again, so my heart is so happy that you and several others will be able to finally have this special reunion, before the opportunity is no longer possible.

Hugs and love!
Your Daughter,
Shannon

Hi Mike,
We saw the pictures of the mini-reunion with Cpt Spencer. It looks like you all had a fantastic time!
If you don't mind, I want to throw something out to you that perhaps you can help us with.
You mentioned that you were going to China on official Bell Helicopter business.
We tried to secure Corporate Sponsorship from Bell for Scramble the Seawolves, but they earmarked their charitable funding for 2018 long before we had signed a contract with KPBS. Sadly, we missed our window.
It goes without saying, it would still be a tremendous opportunity to have them as a Sponsor, especially considering the Premiere, location and content of the film.
We know that sometimes, when it comes to sponsorship, it comes down to "WHO YOU KNOW".
If I send you an official Corporate Sponsorship Letter, KPBS Letter, Trailer, etc., do you know someone who may have the means to proposing this to the decision makers for consideration?
It really is a perfect opportunity and fit, timing was simply not on our side.
I don't have your contact information, but feel free to call me directly at 951-704-5671 or via email at seawolvesdoc@gmail.com

Take care,
Shannon
