The Naval Academy Athletic Association has confirmed that one of the football team's best defensive players, Chris Johnson #46, will wear our Seawolf squadron patch during this year's Army-Navy game. It will be stiched on his jersey over his shoulder pads. Another player, Anthony Lewis, will wear one as well. I'm hopeful others on the team will wear one too, since I sent in 12 patches. The team receives thousands, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Sincere thanks to Kelly Delaney for "getting the ball rolling" so to speak!
Kick-off is at 3 pm, Saturday, Dec 13, and the game is televised on CBS.
This is intended as a shout-out to honor all of our enlisted door gunners, maintenance techs, and our WIA and KIA. More than 100 USNA alumni served as pilots in the squadron, including our first CO, CDR Howard, out of the class of 1950 and, later, CAPT Beckwith '49.
Saluting all you wonderful men we were so privileged to serve with! You were, and are, the best.
Go Navy, Beat Army!
Best, Gordo
