ROH Question

Rick Meussner
We have a Det-3 Vinh Long Early Plank Owner that flew with Mavericks & Outlaws. He has no Flight Records. (Don't know how we might get them from the Army or even if the Army has any records).

My question is how might we get these early flyers qualified for ROH?

I flew with the Mavericks at Vinh Long in May - Jun 67 and it was recorded in my log book.

Re: ROH Question

ITEMS TO SUBMIT TO THE BOARD
1. A story of one or more combat actions influencing nomination (prolonged exposure to combat environment may be used in justification)
2. Include any available supporting documentation. Copies of combat awards, citations, last page of flight record which should tell how many combat missions flown, any news or magazine articles and anything you think will help with nomination, a few pictures of nominee from that time, articles from Seawolf web site if pertaining.

Thanks Bill and Morrie,

I'm pretty sure this fellow has no flight log - record, I know of several folks whose logs were lost or misplaced.

I'll do some more research, I've been contacted by a Maverick Door gunner who remembers some Seawolf Gunners.

Re: ROH Question

Rick, Bills info is correct.  You or he or whomever will be nominating him needs to visit the ROH website and download the requirements document and the nomination form.  Everything will be explained there.  Surely he has awards such as Air Medals to prove his combat experience.  Sounds like he needs to obtain a copy of his service record.  The ROH takes the inductions very seriously so he will need to do his best to provide some form of proof of his combat experiences.
