Congrats Red!  Now you can go for unemployability!   Hope you didn't have a long wait and fight to get there.  I'm pushing for an increase to get to 70 and it took a year to get the C&P... now I have to wait 3 to 6 months my rep said to get an answer if I get the increase or not and how much. If I have to appeal there goes another 2 year wait... if that goes well then rumor has it that it takes another 1 to 2  years to get the unemployability... I should be about 67 years old by then and hopefully still alive.  I guess I don't live in the right part of the country.

Enjoy it Red.... it's well deserved... see you in Dallas.

So far I have 3 years into it... with all totaled up I'm at 60%....(actually 70 but their figuring it's 60). And I see most likely another couple years to go at least.  Wanted to just give up but hung in there.. have some great Brothers here that keep your spirits up and help out all they can.

Re: PTSD UP

Michael
You know, i have a fantastic rep here an he got my ptsd up to 70, and 20 for my shoulder, in the back ground i have all the agent orange crap as service connected, got 10 for tinnitus then got 30 for my actual hearing, i understand that one was a hard one, but i had my recording of the inside Huey, and they awarded it, got 20 for nueropathy due to diabetes, and i got 10 for ed (erectile dysfunction) and it was connected,  never heard of that one, but my rep grabbed it, i know it all should ad up to 100 but it doesn't,,, only 90, it took me a year to get the unemployability i had to prove it,, the ptsd is what got it for me, it got to where i would bite the goldfishes head off for just being there, let alone the crap the Kat had to put up with,, we have a fantastic VA in reno, i wouldn't trade them for anything,,, the paper from the camp ground company was the icing on the cake, they confirmed that i indeed was to much to keep on the payroll,  hang in there guys we deserve all that is available to us, too bad we had to wait forty some years to even be acknowledged  Love you guys,, see you in Texas.

Re: PTSD UP

Mike... I would love the info on how to get the 10 for ED.. I have that and have had it for a long time. I got 30 for PTSD, 30 for headaches and 10 for tinnitus. They recognized the TBI which was diagnosed as the cause of the headaches, they recognized the hearing loss and gave me hearing aids. I need at least a 20%  increase to get an additional 10%.  You could have way over 100 and never get 100.... government math... it's the percentage of what you get that is figured on the remaining percentage that you have let to reach 100.. I have 60 so my additional percentage is figured on the remaining 40.  Oh well.. time will tell.

Howard, and brothers, don't give up on C&P claims.  I still have an appeal in from an initial claim submitted in Nov., 2007.  In God We Trust, all others bring data!

Congratulations Brother, I just had my second VA review for PTSD with the VA contract Doctor on my appeal of the first application for PTSD consideration, my appeal is based on a Private doctors testing and diagnoses of PTSD and the VA doctor said she only thought I was boderline, this after her 40 minutes of questions.  Her parting remarks were you need to continue seeing your private Psyc.  Guess I know the VA is going to turn me away once again.  I suppose the problems I'm experiencing are not significant enough for the VA.  Waiting for the official letter. Tke Care Brother,  Andy

Re: PTSD UP

Lee... keep on pushing to get more! With the diabetes and heat problem you should be at 100%. There are men at the local VA here that just have the heart problem like you and are at 100%.  There is no consistency at all from coast to coast.

Take all of your records to Social Security and apply for disability, you can then avoid Medicare deductions and part B, lower your taxable income. regards bpressey
