Association Life Member and Seawolf Plank Owner Passed Away Saturday 10/10/2015

Just received an email from Judy Krausie, wife of Plank Owner Seawolf Walter John Krausie, Sr., ADJ3, Maintenance, Vung Tau, 6/8/1967 to 6/3/1968 passed away last Saturday, 10/10/2015.
He was a LIFE Member of the Association, joined in 2010.

Here's the email:
Hi Dan, I just wanted you to know that Walter J. Krausie - Wrightwood, California passed 10/10.  I have been trying, unsuccessful. to find a gun salute at his services on 10/23.  This was one of his requests but he did not serve 20 years, but in the end gave his life for us.  Exposure to agent orange, severe PTSD could go on.

Judy Krausie

I requested further info from her on services as soon as possible to hopefully give at least some California Seawolves enough notice to possibly attend on 10/23/15.

I only know for now that arrangements are under the direction of
Desert View Funeral Home,
11478 AMARGOSA RD
VICTORVILLE, CA 92392
(760) 244-0007

I also gave her information on the gun salute and that he did not have to serve 20 years, and who to contact if the Funeral Director can't help her.

Myself and Clarence Green  was able to attend the funeral  of our  Seawolf Brother Walter Krausie Sr. in Victorviller Ca. It was an Honor for us to  represent the Seawolves at his service and his family appreciated us being there to honor and pay our respects to Walter, our Seawolf brother.
It was a beautiful service and as the family shared many heartfelt memories of him, it was quite obvious to us that our Seawolf brother was deeply loved by his family and certainly will be missed.
The Minister talked a lot about the Seawolves during the service honoring Walters'  as a Seawolf and
recognized myself and Clarence as Seawolves who actually served with Walter in Vung Tau , 67-68.
His Family knew very little about the Seawolves or Walters' service with the Seawolves. They were very eager to hear and learn more about both. After the Service, Clarence and I  were fortunate enough to get to spend time with his family in the chaple . That was a very special time for us as it gave us the opportunity to tell the family about the Seawolves. Our misson, our history , our accomplishments and how Walters' service  had contributed greatly to the many successes of our Squadron.
I am quite sure that his family ( especially his Sons ) have a much better understanding of Walters vietnam service and how important his contributions were. They also understand he is our brother , will never be forgotten by us and is now at rest in a very special  place within our Seawolf brotherhood.
In closing I would like to offer our condolences to Walters entire family and say that it was an honor to meet them and learn more of Walters life and the lives of the people he touched in a special way.

It was our honor  to be there,
Joe Crutcher

Thank you Joe and Clarence for honoring Walter and his family with your attendance and spending some time to share our history with the family.

Sincere Thanks to all who are able to attend and honor our Brothers when possible and share some history and give some comfort to the family member(s) left behind.
