I was just notified by the widow of Seawolf Neil Edward Knauer in Illinois of an obituary that mentioned the person was a Seawolf.
It turned out to be Life Member, Seawolf John Howard Cook, AMH2, Maintenance, Binh Thuy, 6/6/1969 to 6/3/1970, passed away just over a week ago.

John Howard Cook, 71, of Piper City, formerly Bloomington, passed away Friday (Nov. 16, 2018) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
He was born Sept. 3, 1947, to Howard and Lois Cook of Roberts. He graduated from Roberts-Thawville High School and Illinois State University. He was a seawolf in the U.S. Navy and saw combat in Vietnam. He was awarded five medals including the Air Medal, which is awarded for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievement. He also received the Navy Achievement Medal with a Combat V for valor. His professional life was spent as a safety engineer, and he was proficient in OSHA regulations.
John had an infectious laugh that was the sign of a good party. He always loved where he came from, and he was patriotic to the end.
He is survived by his son, Ross (Shannon) Cook, East Peoria; granddaughter, Kai Cook, Denver; sister, Gail (John) Lamb, Downs; and nephews, Michael (Maria) Lamb and Austin (Kristin) Lamb.
His graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lyman Cemetery, Roberts. Memorials may be directed to the Greater Peoria Area Honor Flight. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, is assisting the family with arrangements.
