US to build a Naval base in the Philipinnes

The US has come to an agreement to build a Naval Base at Oyster Bay in Palawan.  It will be a joint PI, US base. Per Bloomberg headlines it will be a 'mini' Subic.  The agreement was in reaction to the Chinese movements in the Spratly Islands.  I have been to Palawan, it is a drop dead beautiful place to be stationed and as most know the PI people are much more friendly than the Afghans, Saudis, Iraqis...
