Email from Association President, Ian Refo I received this email from Jim Madison of udtseal.org. They are looking for Seawolf stories to put in their next Assn magazine, The Blast.
I’d like to get the word out to as many Seawolves as possible but by the time the next Wol[f]gram comes out, it’ll be past the deadline. My thought was to put a short version of this email on the Facebook page or our Website…Your thoughts ideas? I don’t have a full address of all our Seawolves so I didn’t send a blast msg to all.
Next Subject:I have been asked to represent the Navy at the dedication of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Assn dedication of a new monument at Arlington National Cemetery on April 18, 2018 at 1600. They like to have as many Seawolves as possible to attend. I will present a wreath on behalf of the Seawolf Assn. Please forward this info as you see fit. Thanks to all.
Ian

Subject: SEAWOLVES Feature in 2nd Quarter 2018 Blast
Greetings Seawolves of HAL-3,
This email is sent to all of you who have contacted me regarding our 2nd Quarter issue of the UDT-SEAL Association BLAST magazine, in an effort to “cyber” introduce you all, (in case you don’t know each other).
I was first contacted by Bob Touhey, regarding stories he had written of his time with the Seawolves in Vietnam. Bob had Cc’d Ian Refo as well as Ron Embry, both, I presume, served with the Seawolves.
I was then contacted by Bill McCamy, who Cc’d Mike O’Hearn, another Seawolf pilot.
I am hoping that you all know each other and can coordinate your input regarding your individual and/or collective experiences with the Seawolves during Vietnam.
The Seawolves legacy is definitely one to be proud of as they are represented in the many internet links below. The first link below is the Wikipedia description of the history of the Seawolves, and in many cases, I have copied and pasted past histories of Naval Special Warfare from Wikipedia for inclusion in past issues of the Blast. I find them to be quite accurate. The second link below is the Seawolf Association webpage of which, I presume you are all members. The rest of the links are very interesting and will, no doubt, bring back memories and inspire you all to accurately recount your experiences with the Seawolves.
Thank you all for your exemplary service to our great nation. I have already received submissions from Bob and look forward to any information, individually, or collectively from the rest of you. The official deadline for submissions for the 2nd Quarter Blast are 18 May 2018. I have Cc’d our Blast Editor, Kara Pogue in this email. Thank you all in advance.
