Got the following from a friend who works at the National Cemetery Administration at VA HQ in DC. It is a copy of an internal email regarding a Seawolf memorial to be placed at the Great Lakes VA cemetery. Thanks to whoever has requested the memorial.
" Good morning!
I received a request to donate a standardized memorial monument for Great Lakes National Cemetery.
The organization wishes to donate a monument to honor the members of a US Naval unit known as the Seawolves.
According to he donor, The US Navy unit which served in the Mekong Delta area of Vietnam and were known as Helicopter Attack (light) Squadron. The squadron is better known as “The Seawolves”. The donor states “The Seawolves” were the most decorated Squadron in Naval Aviation history.
In accordance with NCA Handbook 3160.02 (Processing Donations of Standardized Memorial Monuments, Plaques, Benches and Trees; Fallen Soldier Displays), Appendix C, item 6(b) states “Submits all proposed inscriptions containing historical information to the NCA History Program (44D) to verify accuracy and authenticity.”
The attached proposed monument donation package is submitted to your office for review to ascertain the validity of the inscription and unit’s history.

I don't know who submitted the request to VA, but hopefully if the request conforms to VA's standards for such things (there are size and material restrictions), the donor will alert the SWs via this website.
