Searching for Seawolf for PBR Reunion

Ralph Richason
This post was updated on .
Hey Guys - First all of us PBR sailors want to say thank you for your many hours in the sky above us flying cover for our little green boats.  I was in River Division 515 in the Delta 1969-70.  I am also organizing our 515 reunion which will commemorate the dis-establishment of our unit - 50 years ago.  Our last CO will be at the reunion and knew many of the Seawolves in our AO.
We patrolled the Vinh Te Canal out of Chau Doc and ATSB at Vinh Ghia from the fall of 1969 until March 1970 - at which time we relocated to Ha Tien on the Gulf Of Thailand. We patrolled the river there until May 1970, when we turned our boats over to the VN Navy.
I was hoping to find a Seawolf who may have flown cover for us during those time frames who would be interested in saying a few words at our reunion.
Our CO was Robert G ("Big Red") McClure.  He was former Naval air and was the last commanding officer of Riv Div 515.
Any responses will be welcome and answered.
Thank you very much.

I was with Det. 5 off the YRBM 16 from Late 68 to May 69 at Chau Doc. Would that cover you time frame?
Remember the Vinh Te well
When and where is your reunion being held?

Mike

Hey Mike - Thanks for your reply.  Your time over the Vinh Te preceded ours.  We were there late 69 til early 70.  Our reunion is being held in San Antonio the end of May.  We dis-established the division on 31 May 1970.  Thanks again for your interest.
