Hi Seawolves!
We wanted to take a moment to bring you up to speed on the progress and our intentions with regard to Scramble the Seawolves.
As we have shared in the past, putting together a feature-length, 2-hour, Documentary is a monumental task and telling the story of the Seawolves has been a tremendous undertaking, one that we are grateful for. We have had the opportunity to work with 3 different Producer’s/Industry Professionals over the past year, which we have shared didn’t yield the results we were hoping for and we ultimately made the decision to sever our relationship with the Producers so as to protect the integrity of your story. We promised each of you that we would protect your story and respect the trust that you placed in us. We are confident that we made the best decision for the project.
There are a number of different steps that take place when you complete a Documentary. The “Production” piece really consists of completing your interviews. With exception to possibly conducting a few additional interviews to connect-the-dots on a story, the production piece has been completed. The next step is “Post-Production”. This includes writing, research, editing, color correction, sound/audio mixing, obtaining archival photos/film, art work, finishing, etc.
Jeff is actively working on the “first edit”. Basically, this is a rough draft of the film. While we have been actively working on post-production tasks, we are also actively networking with local filmmakers and industry professionals so that we can find the very best team to work with Jeff so that Scramble the Seawolves is completed to the highest possible caliber.
Jeff could certainly complete the project on his own, however, we have always had a sense of urgency in completing this so that each of you have the opportunity to see your story in a beautiful package. It is our goal to have Scramble the Seawolves completed by the Reunion in San Diego next year. If we get it done sooner, wonderful!
We have a heavy heart as well considering so many Seawolves have recently passed away that sadly will not have the opportunity to see the completed film. This continues to motivate us to press on with gumption and it is our hope and prayer that the Seawolves who have passed will be smiling down on us, blessing our project as we progress and that their families will have an appreciation for what they accomplished with the Seawolves.
Lastly, the Seawolves have been extremely generous in their financial support of this project so far. We are grateful and it has helped tremendously. We intend to launch our 2nd and hopefully final, Indiegogo Campaign soon. To all of the Seawolves, what we would like to ask is that you would kindly share the campaign details within your social network, family, friends and anyone you know within the Military community that would find this story exciting and want to help us complete this project.
We will continue to keep you updated within the next few days.
We have an open door and welcome any questions you may have.
Take Care,
Jeff and Shannon
