Terry L Mize
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of RADM Kevin Delaney, he will be missed by his family as well as all of the Seawolf family whom was beloved by so many of us.

Yesterday the US Navy lost a genuine Vietnam-era war hero and a great leader, and I lost a friend and mentor. So proud to have been Rear Admiral Kevin Delaney's Flag Aide 1995-96. He taught me so much, introduced me to so many awesome experiences and ideas and people, and has been a trusted advisor and confidant in my post-Navy career. Thoughts, prayers and condolences to his beautiful family and to all of the friends and admirers left behind. ‪#‎HAL3‬ ‪#‎Seawolves‬ ‪#‎COMNAVBASEJAX‬

"I have the sad duty to advise you that our friend and fellow Bald Eagle, Kevin Delaney, passed away last evening. His problem started as he and Pat were returning from vacation in Key West on 30 MAY 14. He fought a good fight but in the end, it was just too much.

There will be a memorial service at the NAS [Jacksonville, FL] Chapel on Monday, 20 APR at 1100 followed by a gathering at the O’Club.

I will send more information as it is available."

As about the only two officers who raised their hand when asked ..." Who wants to go Helos? " Kevin and
I met on the first day of Flight School. We both wanted Helos and we both wanted to go to HAL-3. Kevin and I car pooled, played golf and became good friends. Not only did we both go to HAL-3, we were room mates in the Det-8 villa and he was my co-pilot. We went through some scary times and some fun times. I will miss him. He had more energy than anyone I knew. He was never too busy to give his time to a worth while project. Our country could use a lot more people like Kevin Delaney. To his wife Pat...Thanks for sharing him with us for so many years. Seawolf 83.

So sorry to hear of his passing. I had the pleasure to serve as the Associations President and to work with Admiral Delaney when we had our reunion in Jacksonville back in June of 1998. The Admiral put the entire Naval Air Station at our disposal and created the setting for our first presentation of the Combat Aircrew Wings on the parade field. I know all who attended that ceremony proudly remember Admiral Zumwalt on hand to personally pin on the wings for more than two hundred Seawolves, once again the magic the Admiral!. It was an even bigger honor to present him with the Super Seawolf Award on behalf of the entire Association for all he had done to honor us! Many thanks to Admiral Delaney!! may the Lord welcome you aboard.

One last thought, it took many good people working hard to make that reunion the singular success that it was, one such man was Captain Con Jaburg, whom we just lost as well, and owe a great deal of thanks to both these Wolves. And we can't forget to offer a big Bravo Zulu to Captain Dick Catone for his singular outstanding efforts !!. Enjoy your lives my Brothers, time is short.
