Photo Tribute To Capt. Jeff Kuss, Blue Angel #6

I received this email from a Seawolf Pilot who was unable to post the photos.

These pictures were taken at the 17th Street RR bridge in Pensacola, better known as “The Graffiti Bridge”.  The artist air-brushed this tribute on 4 June.  Thought the Seawolves might like to see it.  I just wanted to add our salute to this fallen hero.  Here is a post I sent to the Pensacola News Journal letters to the editor this morning.  Don’t know whether they will print it, but thought you fellows might like to see it.

Best to all,

=====

A TRIBUTE TO CAPTAIN JEFF KUSS, USMC

Hello Jeff.  We have never met, but I know you very well. You, like many of us, were driven to aerial adventure.  You became a U.S. Marine to both follow your dream and serve your country. In that service as a Blue Angel pilot you obtained the pinnacle of Naval Aviation professionalism, a source of great pride throughout the Marine Corps, Navy and the country you love. Most regrettably you were faced with the tragic yet unavoidable decision to fly your stricken aircraft out of harms way during the last mission of your life. Sacred honor, supreme flying skill, love of family and country were your paramount thoughts and actions.  I know your prayer to your wife and family, "Honey, I love you and the children with all my heart.  You know I must do this, my sacred duty. I love you".

Sacred scripture tells us "No man has greater love than to lay down his life so that others may live".  May holy angels carry your immortal soul to Our Father in Heaven to rest with all loving patriots in that special place our Lord has prepared.

A Navy HA(L)-3 Seawolf pilot

Please do not print my name as what I have written is from all Seawolves and a grateful country, not just one person who happened to write what is in his heart.

The following is a link to a video clip of FAT ALBERT, the Blue's C-130 bringing Capt Kuss back to P'cola escorted by a Blue Angel Hornet.
