My little Brown dog Died in his sleep this morning

bill rutledge
I have been crying like a baby over losing my little 7 yr old dog George this morning, He was the best little boy in the world. I am really broken up over this, I held him in my arms and rocked him before i buried him in my back yard under a flower bush, he will be in my memory forever, i loved him like he was my child. i was hoping my dogs would out live me where i wouldnt have to go through this , he was acting sick yesterday and wasnt playing so i wast going to take him to the Vets early this morning,  so now i blame myself for not taking him to the Emergency yesterday, My other 3 baby Dogs are sad and have looked everywhere for him , they are not playing or barking , so sad,

Sorry to hear of your loss Chief ---  They become far more than just pets don't they? Take care Chief, I know that place in your back yard now is a special place of honor ....

it happens all too often. Pets just don't live long enough, and it always breaks your heart. hang in there Bill, the others will help heal your pain.

It is really tough Bill when we loose "Man's Best Friend".  Some words of comfort sent to me some time ago.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Bill sorry about the loss of your good pal.  Take comfort in your grief. We only feel deep grief about a loss that matters--it is a clear indicator of your love for the little guy. My wife and I cried like babies when we lost our beloved black lab. It was a year before we got used to her not being there to greet us when we got home.

Animals fill the empty nest and give us humans the comfort the require.  It's been over a year since our Yellow Lab went to Rainbow Bridge and is still sorely Missed.
