Received this email from Mac--Aussie Navy Door Gunner--trying to find out some info for a Aussie Pilot that was trying to remember who he swapped Pilot Wings with--Det 7 1970---call or email me if you have any info
I just received this from Buck. He hopes the memory of the swapping of wings (he gave his RAN pilot’s wings to a Seawolf) may help to jog somebody’s memory about the blokes he rescued.
Cheers
Mac

Hey Mac, It worked. These wings date back to Dec 1970 and were given to me during one of our visits to the Dong Tam Sea Wolves den. As usual on such occasions, the memories are very vague, and subsequent to celebrating my successful pick-up of injured crewmen from a damaged riverine craft during a firefight. I have carried the wings, with other small bits of memorabilia, for so long I had forgotten all about them. It is a very long shot but some one might remember some details of the survivors from that time.
Gotta go Mate. Picking up Jamie from visiting her Mum in Wesley Hospice.
Mike, is he sure it was Det 7? Dets 4,5,6,7 were all at Dong Tam for a while at different times...
Here is a Det 7 List (if it actually uploads)
