Found 6 more Seawolves

Found 6 more Seawolves, had been waiting to post, waiting for some call backs, but they haven't called.

10/11/2019

**01** Found and spoke with Son of Seawolf Gary C. NOYD, AE2, Gunner, Det 2, 12/02/1967 to 11/05/1968. Son confirmed I had correct person and address, but I could not find a phone#. Son confirmed he is a “Mountain Goat” in Laytonville, CA (Northern Mountain area) and he only has a Trac Phone that he turns on in the evening for an hour (to save battery and phone charges) in case the Son calls. He has not returned my calls yet, but Son will contact him and give him my info. Sent his son the “Stuff”.

**02** Found old TWS Profile of Seawolf John E. BRANHAM, CYN3, Admin, Binh Thuy, 7/30/1967 to 09/27/1969. Profile showed him living in Rowlett, TX at the time, but hadn’t finished or updated profile since last logon on June 2013 and email was bad. Using the Rowlett, TX address, found that John is now living in Springfield, MO. Left messages on phone numbers found, but has not called back yet. Waiting for call back to get email to send the "Stuff".

**03** Found DAT Seawolf Donald Eugene CAMPBELL, Jr., ADR2, Maintenance, Binh Thuy, 10/05/1971 to 2/29/1972, Retired as AD1. Confirmation through Father Don Sr.’s Obituary at time of Dad’s death (Jan 1970), stating his surviving Son Don, Jr was Navy, stationed at Point Mugu, CA. (Don reported to HA(L)-3 in 1971 reporting from NAS Point Mugu, CA.)  Rest of family has passed also.

**04** Found and spoke with Seawolf Johnny R. MILLER, ATN3, Maintenance, Binh Thuy, 06/10/1969 to 06/03/1970. Johnny & Wife live in North Merrick, NY.  Sent him the “Stuff”

**05** Found and spoke with Cousin of Seawolf Steven W. KAKAIO, Jr, AN, Binh Thuy, 09/25/1971 to 03/16/1972 (Last flights out). I’d been calling a number I found in Kaneohe, Hawaii since 2012 and leaving messages, but never got a response. Finally found a relative right here in Utah (Cousin). After a few voice mails back and forth with Cousin Derick a few times, first confirming I had the correct person, I believe he may have spoken or texted with Steven and evidently found that Steven doesn’t want to be contacted, as Cousin is no longer answering or returning my calls.

**06** Found DAT Seawolf Donald Paul NEAL, ADJ1, Maintenance, Binh Thuy, 05/17/1970 to 01/02/1971. Have had him marked as “Unconfirmed DAT” until now. Don’s ADBD was October 1954, so I knew he was born on or before October 1936 to be 18 when he joined in ‘54, and when he left HA(L)-3 on Jan 2, 1971 after 8 months in the squadron for HUMS Assignment orders FFT NATC/NAS PAX River, MD, he had over 17 years in the Navy. I had been trying to locate family, and I finally did, however they had all passed away also. Everything about this person fits, just couldn’t find living family to confirm 100%.

Down to 169 Seawolves still left to be found.

Every time I see one of these "found em" posts, I flash back to the song by Martha and the Vandella's,  "No Where To Run, No Where to hide".   This should be Dan's theme song!

Kudos Dan
