Get with your rep and file for un-employability... I don't think age has anything to do with it... you have to meet 2 requirements and right now I can't think of them but give me time I'm sure I'll find it unless someone else out there knows.  I THINK it's having one disability at a certain percentage and a total at another.  I got mine in Sept. and it took 9 months total from filing the claim... and less than 30 days from the C&P for a decision.. I'm one of the lucky ones because I know there are many out there still waiting for a decision.

Send me an email Gene....

Bill ....  I have one rating at 70% and a total of 80%. My rep suggested to file for the unemployability which like I mention got the rating fairly quick.  What ever your total % was before filing for the unemployability will stay the same but you will be compensated at 100%.  You will be treated as total disabled.... the result should also say that it's total permanent disability.  You will receive be able to get the ID card that will give you access to military bases.... you will be able to get veteran handicap plate... plus a paid up life insurance.  I can't think of anything else right now .... if you have a rep have him file it.

Hey, Went down last week & was told "Needed to have 4 incidents on record to claim for my back. Only had 2.
Had 3 for my knee... Didn't even want to see my copies of info from your website from surgeons & not being able to report incidents. Thanks

I'm a little confused..... are you saying that you can't get it because you don't have 4 incidents on record?  What record VA or military?  And I understood when I had mine filed was that you only  had to be rated at 70 or 80 percent to file for unemployability..... had nothing to do with any number of incidents. I would go see another rep.

Howard, question, What Life insurance are you getting that is paid up.?

And I agree, confused, never heard about a number of incidents required for unemployability ... yet I did not go that route myself for my 100% ...Best to you Bill..sounds like your dealing with sum wack-os..

Kid... I think it's a $10,000 policy... I signed it over to the funeral home and already paid for my funeral... there will be some of it left over which the funeral director will give to one of my children. My daughters won't have to do anything when I head to the hanger.  The funeral home is not charging to take me to the National Cemetery near Akron which I thought was awesome... It's about an hour's drive to get there.
