Conversion kits for motorcycles.... 2 wheel to trike

Anyone have any pro's or con's on using a conversion kit to change a two wheel motorcycle into a trike? And cost?

..Howard.. depends on how you wish your scooter to end up...and of course cost figures in i figure...Outlaw series basic trike conversion kits and Outlaw series motorcycle trike kits..have been sum of the conversions i have seen guys do to their bikes....and sum conversions that are really out there with materials used, in fact there are clubs that do conversions to bikes, sum crazy results i've seen....cost..$1400-basic on up from thar...little cheaper than $37,000-Goldwing or $40,000 plus for Harley's trikes...many used trikes for sale out there in web land also....or the Can-Am bikes.....well just thoughts to kick about in response to you question.

If you are converting your bike I'd go with a Lehman Conversion if you are converting a Suzuki, Honda or Harley. It has a fixed straight rear axle for long open road driving. I  am not familiar with all the independent rear axle conversions out there. They are worth a look if you prefer a softer rear end ride. There are a lot of new trikes out there now days. They run about $32,000 and up. You may want to check your local Lehman and other converters for used trikes. Also, remember in most states insuring and licensing (driving) are different. I have had my Ultra Glide Lehman conversion since 2007 and I have enjoyed it immensely. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help men.... since my accident last year on the bike my left leg just isn't the same, I broke it when I had to lay the bike down.  I'm a little uncomfortable planting the foot when I stop but I'm still riding anyway... I'm leary about getting another bike that would be heavier.  I know they are expensive new and I'm not too fond of the Can Ams I don't like the look.... there is a dealer just down the road from me for those. I'll check out the info passed on and definitely take my time on deciding if I will do it or not.  Thanks

Howard, there are several "Trike" alternatives that area lot less money. Look into LegUp - The Perfect Trike Alternative, or "Insta-Trike"  or "Ghost Trike"

Thanks Rick .. I'll check out all the info that I've gotten.  I'm just trying to save a few bucks to move to a trike.
