Hey, KID,
I am sorry I did not answer sooner. I was wondering where that picture of you and me was taken? I have some Seawolf Pictures on Facebook. If you go to Richard Lee Hammer, Facebook. Click pictures, one is of Wild Bill Simmons and I getting drunk over a hairy mission into a volcano to knock out a 57 mm Chi-com Recoil-less Rifle. It was the same volcano, that previously I got shot in the knee. On the back side of the volcano, or seaside. We had a another mission. I was coming out of the briefing, looking down at the deck kind of sad. Lt. Barr was right behind me, he asked, what was wrong with me. I said, sir, I wish we could get a "milk-run" for a change. He said, if you shoot right, you will be the only one to shoot. So we got airborne, flew to the volcano. He said, see the large boxes on the beach. Yes, Sir. Shoot them, see what happens. I did, shooting the large box near the cave first. That box exploded. Then the other large boxes started to explode as well. At first the VC/NVA did shoot at me with their AK-47's at me but when the first box blew up no one was shooting at us, they were all taking cover. Even the sampan near the boxes caught fire, then it exploded. Well, I hope your doing OK. Did you get married have kids. What did you do for work? I spent 29 years with the USCG. Retired as a Chief Petty Officer. I had one son,  who is about to go into the U.S. Army. He want to go  Airborne. I just hope it is soon. - RICKY

Hey, TEX,
My back is OK. I did 29 years in the USCG. I had issues that over shadowed my back, like a double hernia. but the VA in New Orleans, LA. preformed miracles.

Well, KID,
So, the picture was in USAF-Binh Thuy. I have not talked with Frenchy since Vietnam. Tom Jackson came down to Florida on vacation, I saw him & talked with him, then. I have talked with Richard King, or his Majesty as I called him. I was walking across a USCG Hangar in San Francisco,CA. I saw a USCG HU-16F Seaplane on jacks. I heard a 2nd Class yelling his head off. I walked over to the seaplane, and said, Your Majesty what a mess! He turned around looked at me and said, who let you into the Coast Guard. I had not seen him since, his days as a gunner for Sealords. He always had a place for A Seawolf Gunner to crash at his pad. When he had an apartment in downtown BinhThuy with hot & cold Vietnamese Young Women running every which-away. I talked with him, over the phone. He became a tech rep for the U.S. Army at Camp Hunter, SC. for UH-1H Helos.
