Back in December 1970 Gerry was in our group of pilots going through SERE at Warner Springs. We were in a large black shoe class, Monday to Friday. On the final morning we were standing around waiting for something to happen when I over heard one of the "guards" who was upset and talking to another one about a damn rabbit that wouldn't stay put (we were the last class before Christmas break). When we got to Ft Rucker the rest of us learned the "rabbit" was Gerry who kept escaping while the instructors were trying to end the "problem" and get us out of there. We all laughed as he told us when they captured him on his last attempt they told him to knock it off and he didn't know why.
