..HELSUPPRON TWO....632- Ordnance Mechanic...myself and two other AO's..1st-& 2nd Class...both married...EASTPAK to Med came up...guess who got to stay behind at Lakehurst ...in a Squadron with no ordnance....So I ran the nite-shift "Tool Shop"...in charge of billion $$'s,..worth of stuff. :-)
...At least I got to know many sailors...XO , wished to hang me.., CO..luv'd me as many of my awards caught up...he read them at morn'n musters and present'd medals...after work'n all nite I only wished to "hit the rack"...so my butt drag'd as I marched/stager'd forward to receive said awards...XO glare'n at my untidy NAVY strut..."Aye" could do no wrong...Got there late Dec 71, till late 72...I could tell yah sum sea-story's about "tools"...To bad we missed each other Russell...Only flew a couple flights..heck "NO" Freeguns ...broom handle's just didn't do it for me..Thanks for ask'n mate...Anchor's Away.!
Thought it was hs2 said it on forum and was told it was hc2. Oh well. I think Calhoun was personnel officer when I got there Pothier was when I left. Made sat crewman did a couple of carrier qual sorties out of Norfolk. Decided I want to go back to nam. Hal3 was in shutdown couldn't get orders there. Lots of hollering but got orders to danang
