**06** Found DAT Seawolf James Lee SINGLETON, Jr., ADJ1, Maintenance, Binh Thuy, 9/9/1970 to 6/4/1971. Short tour because he came to us from NAF Cam Rahn Bay. He transferred to VT-23, NAS Kingsville.
Found his Death Certificate. He was killed less than a year later on May 26 1972 riding a motorcycle, traumatic injuries from collision with automobile in Nueces County, TX.
Death Certificate stated body was removed May 30, 1972 to cemetery unknown in Columbus, GA.
Found Headstone application for Father James Lee Singleton, for Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, GA.
Called cemetery and found they are buried side by side. Death Certificate said entered Navy 1964, also matches his ADBD on record. (5/20/15 – just found and spoke with a Brother (Marine Corps), who confirmed he was our Jim. Said the car pulled out in front of him when he was killed.) Brother stationed in Philippines when Jim was killed, never got to see him after Jim left for Vietnam.
