I just received a call from Rick this morning and he asked me to post . There was an accident yesterday involving Tom Conklin and Jimmy Scheels in the vicinity of Eureka Ca. . The accident occurred in the curvy Redwoods area of the mountains. Jimmy went down first ,went in between two trees, and the bike new bike went on down the mountain without the rider. Tom was behind Jimmy and went down in a successful attempt to miss Jimmy. Contact with support emergency personnel took an extended amount of time due to the remote area and no cell coverage. Both riders are out of the hospital, with no broken bones, but both bikes are totaled. Tom is not able to walk, but the cause is unknown . Tom and Jimmy are attempting arrangements to fly home at this time. Rick and the rest of the riders have compared schedules, and commitments, and have elected to shut the 4 corner ride down at this time and the remaining riders will start home soon . Good fortune once again is with Seawolves as all will recover.
Thanks for this post Mike... My thoughts and Prayers are going out for both. Thank God that they escaped serious injury and I hope that Tom's set back is short lived.
I met Rick and Barry this morning east of Oklahoma City . They should be in Branson tonight --- all was well, and Barry's "cooler" invention seems to be working fine --- maybe even too good !!
