This was a post yesterday on Facebook by Doug Wilson, (Army Crewchief with 175th AHC, Vinh Long Mavericks):
13-14 MARCH 1968, I recently bought a book,
The Teams, an oral history of the U S Navy Seals. There is a night operation mentioned of 2 Outlaw slicks 26 & 66 picking up the Seals.
Does anyone remember that operation. Dan Arnes do you recall the Seawolves working that night.
(I told him they worked every night!)
He emailed me copies of the pages and I tweaked them up and although the entire story is worth reading, I framed the parts mentioning the Seawolves. In the email he said:
"Dan, some documentary folks are planning a documentary about this Seal Team
and this Operation. They have been in touch with the Team and Vietnamese interpreter.
The Documentary company has also contacted an Outlaw pilot who contacted me.
If anyone recalls the mission, let me know and I'll get you in contact with Doug, who can get in touch with the Documentary people.
They mention
"Seawolf 66 & 69". Here are the pages.
